Jakov Sedlar’s film “Faith in a Time of Change – The Story of Cardinal Franjo Šeper” is based on a screenplay and text by Fr Živko Kustić and Mgr Vladimir Stanković. Both knew Cardinal Šeper very well and worked closely with him.
The film traces the life of Cardinal Franjo Šeper, whose name stands among the most important in the modern history of the Catholic Church and of the Church in Croatia. He lived at a time when the world was changing faster than ever, and the Church was seeking a path between centuries-old tradition and new challenges.
A large body of documents was gathered for the film. They tell of Cardinal Šeper’s life, but also of the historical circumstances in the world and in our region, and of how much a personality like Šeper’s contributed through his composure, his avoidance of conflict and his commitment to dialogue.
